The most prominent concept in most of Dr. Seuss’s books is the rhyme. Call out a word, and see if your little one can make a rhyme. Count the humps on the Wump. Find opposites throughout the book – sad/glad, old/new, etc. Of course, there are different colored fish, as well. The possibilities are endless.

Free Fish-Counting Fun Printable

Here’s a fun little freebie for your preschoolers. Print out both pages on cardstock. I recommend laminating them for stability.

Cut apart the fish cards. Have your preschooler roll a dice and count the dots. Place the same number of fish in the fishbowl.

Continue to play until your little one is out of fish. This would be fun to do with goldfish crackers, too.
